About us
Football Verdict was born from a simple premise: there's plenty of fantasy football advice out there, but none of it is tailored for your team specifically.
Sure, you can wade through a bunch of statistics. Or, you can look at expert rankings every week, but that's no fun.
You could pay attention to the television pundits, but it seems like they're always debating Eli Manning and Matt Schaub, when you're choosing between Jay Cutler and Josh Freeman. Or they're talking about wide receivers when what you really need is advice on whether to play the Dallas defense or pick up Washington from the waiver wire.
We've been there. We feel your pain. That's why we created Football Verdict.
Football Verdict started on popular message boards as "Sit or Start," and there was one important rule: in order to ask a question, you had to answer the question from the user before you. We've carried that over to Football Verdict to help build our community.
We've gone beyond that simple advice idea, though. Each Tuesday, we'll go back and review every answer submitted on Football Verdict. We'll determine what you got correct and incorrect and give you a score, ranking every user weekly and season-long on our Leaderboard.
So let's say that you said I should play Cutler over Freeman, and you were right. Cutler scored 22 fantasy points and Freeman scored 18. You'll get points for that.
But if you recommended that I pick up Washington and they only scored 2 fantasy points, while Dallas scored two INT TD's and racked up 14, you'll lose a few points.
Our points system is explained here, but it's pretty simple. You're encouraged to make the right decision, not the risky one.
So that's Football Verdict. We hope you like it. Football Verdict is created by Dan Chaparian and Heliodor Jalba, with design from Nick Angiolillo. Email us at info@footballverdict.com.
